This award is aimed at individuals who are involved in the management and organisation of fire safety in work environments. This is suitable for Managers, Supervisors, Fire Wardens and similar roles.

There are no learning prerequisites for taking this course providing you have a minimum of Level 1 for literacy and numeracy.

This examination has 20 multiple choice questions that must be answered within 45.

The learning outcomes from this course are as follows:

  • The causes of fires in the workplace.
  • Hazards during and after a fire.
  • Improving fire safety within a work place environment.
  • Raising the alarm when a fire is detected.
  • How fires are extinguished and using equipment safely.
  • Understanding the different types of firefighting equipment.
  • The duties of employees and employers with regards to fire safety.
  • How to undertake a simple fire assessment in the workplace and basic risk assessment.
  • Understanding the roles of nominated fire wardens.
