This is a 1 day course which looks into what a stroke is and explores how to support a service user with their care needs.

The learning outcomes from this course are as follows:

  • Understand what a stroke is and its implication to a service user.
  • Understand the different types of stroke including understanding what a transient ischaemic attack (TIA) or “mini stroke”.
  • Understand the signs of a stroke and what to do when individual is showing signs and symptoms of it.
  • Understand your responsibilities as Care Worker supporting individual with
    stroke.
